September’s full moon is often known as the corn moon, since its light allowed farmers to harvest crops into the night.
For this month’s full moon hike, we’re switching things up and heading to the wide-open plains at Flagg Park to walk the prairie flats and admire our moon.
Expect less road noise out here, less development and darker skies as we hike the Coal Creek Path heading south for about a mile. We’ll take in the night and slowing songs of the crickets, stay on the lookout for owls and perhaps get a sighting of Flagg Park’s resident coyote population.
