As the stillness of December grips Coal Creek, we’ll bundle up and venture out into a sleeping world. Winter is the season of darkness, which draws us ever closer together as we lean on each other for community and support in the leanest of the seasons. Join us creek side with Writer-in-Residence Erin Robertson to explore the themes winter, rest and connection.
Expect a mellow hike of about 1.5-2 miles, roundtrip, along the Coal Creek Trail. We’ll have a chance to look and listen for the nocturnal residents of the creek: great horned owls, coyotes, turkeys and the last hardy crickets of summer.
