June’s full moon is called the strawberry moon, as the fruits of spring are suddenly ripe.
The nightlife along Coal Creek also picks up, with chorus frogs and crickets creating a riparian serenade to accompany our stroll.
Join Friends of Coal Creek Executive Director Casey Lyons for an easy walk along the creek beginning at Aquarius Open Space in Louisville. We’ll walk the path by moonlight, keeping our senses alert for the calls and footfalls of nocturnal creatures.
Expect an easy, 1.5-mile walk on the Coal Creek Path. Families and pets welcome. Limited to 15 hikers.
